Catching Fire Movie Review

So this is my Catching Fire Movie Review. Now I know Catching Fire has been out for a long time, but I just saw it recently. Unfortunately Netflix only has Catching Fire (the second one) and not the Hunger Games (the first one). But it was good. Okay, so. Where to start...ah yes. I appreciated that the movie stuck so close to the book. It was basically word for word, and the actors did a tremendous job.  This movie was a good one.
Mags and Finnick are just...I can't describe it. They love
each other, but thats just because Mags basically raised Finnick.
She's such a great woman, and when I first saw her in the movie,
I was like "I don't know if I can even WATCH her die!" (I have read
the books)

I LOVE it how in the parade, all of the tributes wave to President
Snow out of respect, and yet Katniss and Peeta just glare at him.
That was utter defiance. Oooohhh President Snow, I think I'm going to have
to get you some water for that burn!!!!!!

Katniss's face in the elevator during a certain part, cracks me up. She was
disgusted by what a fellow tribute was doing and saying and the face
she made is priceless. I find myself making that face a lot. *guilty smile*
Gloss and Cashmere-from District 1. Okay so they were pretty cool,
but they died like super easily. Sure Gloss killed Wiress, but seriously,
all Katniss did was shoot him in the chest with an arrow. But then again
she is like lightening fast with that thing.

Brutus and Enobaria-District 2. Two more members of the Career pack.
Cashmere and Gloss were also part of this gang. District 4 usually joins in
the Careers, but Finnick and Mags refused. Enobaria gives me the creeps. She
sharpened her teeth "to rip people's throats out" as Haymitch puts it.

Finnick Odair is sort of a creep/awesome dude/lover. Okay? So the
smooth deep way he talks to Katniss is weird. The way he throws a trident
and fights is epic. He and this girl named Annie love each other. When I was
first reading the books, i thought he liked Katniss. Turns out he's just a flirter,
and he's already in love with another.
Finnick again.

Mags was so sweet. The way she was with Katniss when
Katniss offered to teach her how to hunt...she was just so sweet,
and THEN she sacrificed herself so Peeta could get safe. NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Then there's Johanna Mason. She's weird, and a little creepy,
but she has a good heart I think but it's way deep down. She's a
fighter, and won't back down easily.
Then there's Peeta of course, acted by Josh Hutcherson. I love the way he always
tries to protect Katniss (Oh they're so roma...*GAG*. Lol JK)
He literally volunteered AS SOON as Haymitch was called.
His facial expressions and the way he can control his voice is awesome
acting.
I relate to Katniss in a lot of ways personality wise. I like
to be by myself, I feel responsible for my little brother (and nephews *wink
wink*), I love archery, I've heard that I'm only myself when I'm with
certain people or at certain places, I'm determined,
protective, cautions yet impulsive, etc. In the movies, they really brought her to life.
Jennifer Lawrence did great as Katniss. The way she is so determined to
keep Peeta alive, and so wary of all tributes. Also, I hope that if ever in the
situation, I could stand between a man with a weapon, and my friend, and say, "Go
ahead." Could you?

And last but not least, Haymitch Abernathy. He was Katniss and Peeta's
mentor for the Hunger Games, and came back as such for the Quarter
Quell. The actor was great at portraying Haymitch's many attitudes.  I love
how he agreed to volunteer for Peeta so that Peeta wouldn't go into the games.
He knew how much Katniss cared about Peeta. Anyways, this is more a biography than a review, so
I'll let you guys go!

The Hunger Games Movie Review Part 1

So, I've finally seen this movie, and I. LOVED. IT. It was awesome! It didnt stick as close to the book as Catching Fire did but it was great. I think I have to say that I liked it better than Catching Fire (sorry Callie). So...where to start...
I think I HAVE to start with the Career Tributes. They were pretty
good in the movie. The actors were good I think...although I'm not
a total fan of Jack Quaid or Leven Rambin as Marvel and Glimmer, they did a good job, only
Alexander Ludwig and Isabelle Fuhrman took it home as Cato and Clove.
Careers again...
Haymitch and Effie...I have to say Haymitch is probably one
of my favorite characters. He's hilarious and yet you can see what
the games did to HIM, and yet he still tries to help the tributes survive. I
absolutely loved the part  when Effie's freaking out about Katniss
shooting the apple, and Haymitch gives Catnip a thumbs up and
basically tells her "good job!"
Effie drives me nuts. She's such a "everything has to be perfect" so
of person it's disgusting...She does bring a very good light hearted
humor into the movie though. The two definitely have their disagreements,
but there's also
a respect they have for each other that's always there
Woody Harrelson and Elizabeth Banks
did a good job in my personal opinion.
Cinna happens to be my dad's favorite character. He said he likes
Cinna because he's kind, and actually cares about the tributes
he works with. He doesn't belong in the capitol, and he actually
tries to help Katniss.
Gale is...well...I'm not sure how to describe him. He cares
about Katniss and tries to make her feel better at the reaping.
You know, my dad wasnt sure about the Hunger Games when
I started reading them, and then after he watched it with me one day
I think he sort of changed his mind...because a couple days later, when
I was getting read to watch it again, he says "You know...I'm still not
convinced..." and he pauses so I thought he was going to say something
along the lines of "that the Hunger Games is a good thing" or something
like that, but no..he says "...that she liked that one guy". I was like...*expressionless
face*.  He doesn't think that Katniss likes Peeta. He ships Katniss and Gale.

Katniss Everdeen of course. She was somewhat intimidated by the Careers,
especially Cato, and yet she showed determination, and did not give up.
Like I said in my Catching Fire Review, I relate to Katniss. You can read about
it in the review.

Okay...I LOVED Rue. She was so sweet and she was only 12!
TWELVE!!!! What is the Capitol's problem?!?! She warned Katniss
about the tracker jackers, rescued her, and helped Katniss blow up the Career's supplies. And then
she dies? NOT. OKAY! NOT EVEN!
Peeta Mellark...he actually loves Katniss. She doesnt see it at first...
Peeta is a baker. He's not much of a fighter and has a kind heart.
There are so many characters and topics to discuss, so I'll post Part 2 later!
